Square Enix has to be commended for either knowing their fan base very well or their inability to take steps forward in developing new game mechanics. That was the first thought that crossed my mind when I started up the BETA for Final Fantasy XIV. I played a lot of Final Fantasy XI and found it much more tedious than rewarding. Yet I was still optimistic about jumping head-first into Square-Enix’s latest MMO. Sadly it seems the game’s issues remain intact because quite frankly my experience with FF14 has left a foul taste in my mouth.
